Joseph
Blake Evans has been with the firm since 2003. Joseph
practices general civil litigation with concentrations in commercial
and business disputes, medical malpractice, environmental litigation
and the administration of estates. He is a
proud native of Northwest Georgia, hailing from the Plainville
community of Gordon County.
After
graduating as valedictorian of Gordon Central High School, Joseph
went on to earn two Bachelor of Arts degrees magna cum laude from
the University of Georgia, one in Latin, one in Classical
Culture. He was also inducted into Phi Beta
Kappa. After college he returned home to teach
Latin, British Literature and Mathematics at Calhoun High School before
returning to Athens to study law. Joseph served
on the Editorial and Managing Boards of the Georgia Journal of
International & Comparative Law while earning his law
degree.
Joseph
and wife Julie live in Calhoun in neighboring Gordon County and
are the proud parents of a young son. Joseph is
an avid fan of music, especially southern music of all types. Joseph
and Julie tour and record with the Little Country Giants with Joseph
playing guitar and Julie supplying vocal harmony.The LCGs have been
voted Atlanta's Best Local Traditional Folk Act for 2005 and 2006 by
the Readers of Creative Loafing and are presently working on their
third album.
Joseph has served on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Calhoun and the Calhoun Gordon Arts Guild. Joseph is also a founder and past president of the New Echota Rivers Alliance, a project of the Coosa River Basin Initiative focused on the protection of the rich water resources with which Gordon County, Georgia, is blessed.
